Material benefits would help people in crisis so much. It is a shame to have to worry about that stuff. Progress isn't linear. You are doing a fantastic job.
You have overcome so much! Lump, I am inspired by you. My grieving seems to be endless but reading personal stories like this gives me hope. There is always capacity to heal from the worst situations.
I have 20 months left on disability as of now, still a lot yet I feel like I barely just gasped for air and will be thrown in a battlefield again. Still wondering how I will figure my financial situation till then and for the rest of my life 😅 Most of all my housing situation is stable which I am very grateful for.
You are doing very important work, congratulations for each step and achievement until today!
There are many things I haven’t included in this story - like how I ended up moving out from my mom’s, the communities I was part of online that both helped and hurt me, the sexual predator who abused me by exploiting my mental illnesses, and the strength it’s taken to remove myself from the community I used to be part of - all of which took place across those six years. But for the contrast I stuck to highlighting where I used to be six years ago; in a place so bad that even my therapist gave up on me.
The last six years have been extremely challenging and I hit new rock bottoms/acquired new traumas to heal during the course of it all. I talk about some of it in other posts.

Thank you, Aline. I wish you the best on your journey
